Host/Cashier job description
REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager
SUMMARY: Primary responsibilities is being friendly & courteous to customers, strategic in maximizing customer seating while maintaining customer satisfaction. Position also requires accurate cash handling & closing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- Food & Beverage experience is preferred, but not required
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time & repetitive hand/wrist motions
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Understands the full menu including the Beverage Menu
- Upholds Sanitary & Cleanliness practices for food handling & cleanliness throughout the restaurant
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintains a neat & clean appearance
- Possess a strong work ethic
- Practices honesty & integrity at all times
- Communication with team members, other departments, & leadership
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Respects & maintains a good working relationship with other team members, departments, & leaders
- Stays productive at all times throughout the shift
- Stays calm & maintain composure under high stress environments
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
- Effectively communicates with customers
- Practices telephone etiquette at all times
- Anticipates customers’ needs
- Stays pleasant, polite & positive with all customers
- Ability to deal with difficult customers
- Desires to provide an exceptional dining experience
- Understands steps of service as detailed in the restaurants 9-Step process
CASH HANDLING:
- Adheres to the restaurant cash handling process
- Detail-oriented in closing procedures
